First in Beth's rig tonight, Adam, going to Michigan & Madison. He knocks out five for $300 when he arrives at a Red Light Challenge. The challenge: six of the top 13 US Winter Olympians in history according to Smithsonian magazine are figure skaters; name four of them. Dorothy Hamill, Brian Boitano, ... and that was it. He missed Peggy Fleming, Kristi Yamaguchi, Scott Hamilton, and Dick Button. He times out on a question about Dennis Kucinich. Strike two comes when he is asked to spell "schadenfreude", and he adds an extra "n". He strikes out when he can't name the term that alludes to an old practice in which highwaymen would blindfold victims before robbing them (hoodwink).

Next up, a trip to Piece on North Avenue for Sam Tannenbaum, Johnny Douglas, and James. They sweep the lower tier, but deet gives them strike one. They end up with $1100! Will they take the bonus? They will! $2200 Video Bonus: these relatives of the goldflish have been bred for centuries in Asia for their bright colors and feng-shui-friendly symbolism. Meaning "carp" in Japanese, what is the name of these cultivated coldwater fish? Koi.... is worth $2200!

Finally, Sheila, Rachel & Amy go to Halsted & Willow.  They go two for four in the $50 tier for $100. They end up with $300 when they stop at a Red Light Challenge: five of the seven African-American men who have won Oscars for acting. Sidney Poitier, Denzel Washington, Cuba Gooding Jr., Forest Whitaker, and Morgan Freeman are right for $550! Missing: Jamie Foxx and Louis Gossett Jr. One last question at the destination... what Seattle museum boasts a soaring rock-and-roll sanctuary called "Sky Church"? Electronic Music Performance... is strike three. It was "Experience Music Project."

Erin finds the Daily Double under $1000 Offbeat Museums. She bets $2000 on this: get a whiff of the Brimstone Museum in southwest Louisiana & learn all about mining for this element. "What is sulfur?" Correct for $5000. She leads with $6400 to $5800 for Tim. Stephen has $3800 and will start Double Jeopardy!...

... with $400 The Sport's Governing Body. Stephen finds the first Daily Double under $1600 It's "Ah" Full. He fronts $1600 on this: 3-dimensional figure with 8 plane faces. "What is an octahedron?" That's right for $9400. Erin finds the other under $1200 Neil, Earthling. She wagers $4000 on this: Neil Estern sculpted him with his dog Fala for his Washington, DC memorial. "Who is FDR?" Correct for $10,800 to end the round opposite Tom's $19,000. Stephen has $11,400.

Let's Make a Deal
by Chico Alexander

Air time: 10a/9C OR 3p/2C on CBS
Host: Wayne Brady with Jonathan Mangum & Tiffany Coyne
On the Web

Hope you enjoyed the basketball. It's back to the deals with Deborah (domino), Charla (strawberry), and Lori (firefighter). They're playing Beat the Dealer for a prize more than $16,000. Deborah picks #3... 4. Charla goes with #7... 7. She's safe. Lori gets #1... 9! Deborah leaves with $100. The other ladies get $500 a piece. Next... a trip to Banff. Charla picks #5... 8! That's a lock for her. Now will Charla trade $7800 in cash and trip for a shot against Wayne for a 2011 Nissan Sentra. SHE'S GOING FOR IT! She picks #9 for Wayne... 2. I wonder what's going to happen... Charla wins, 6-2!

DeAndre (public works) can get Curtain #1... or the small box... This looks like a case for... Judge Tiffany. Jonathan says that there's something big in his small box. Wayne says that his curtain has a game room... with a home bar.  DeAndre goes with the curtain. In the box... a shipwreck cruise (ZONK!). Wayne offers $700 to bail out. No deal, so $700 buys him a game room with HDTV and home bar!

Amber (devil) gets a red, green, and blue box. First box... a digital fitness package with iPod with shoes, $500 from iTunes, and a year at Gold's Gym. Will she keep it or go for the greenie? She keeps her prize, passing up on a trip to California wine country. Had she gone all the way, she would've won... mayonnaise sunscreen (SPF delicious!). But will she keep what she has or trade for what's in the Let's Make a Deal vault? She keeps the prize, passing up on ... $162.

Courtney (lei) gets a box of Cracker Jacks... with a prize inside. She can take it or Curtain #2. Whatever she doesn't take goes to Shannon (quarterback). She takes the curtain... and gets a PS3/Rock Band 2 package and HDTV! Now will Shannon take the Cracker Jack or trade for a small box? Whatever she doesn't want goes to Lillian (Pikachu). Shannon keeps the Cracker Jacks. Lillian sells the box for $500, but she would've had a dining room if she kept the box. One more box for Shannon, and it's a big one. She stays with the Cracker Jacks, giving up giant jacks (ZONK!) for... a KIA RIO!

So we gave away two cars. What else can we give away to Jillian & Tyler (pirates)? How about $10,000? Bring out the pigs! First up, #2 and #6. In total... $6 for $2000! Will they keep it or go on? They want #8 and #4. #8 had $2. #4 had a Zonk. So $3000 or go on? Tyler wants to hit. #3... a dollar. #1... another dollar... #9... game over. But Wayne gives them $100.

Andrew (a guy in a black cape) gets as much money as he would like... or he could trade his guess of $400 for a Curtain #3. He goes for it. Wayne had as much as $8000. Andrew has an ATV.

But will he have it for long? It's time for Big Deal time! $26,345 on the line today...

TRADE LIST:
Charla: $16,520
Shannon: $15,185
DeAndre: $7997
Andrew: $3299
Courtney: $2540
Amber: $1528
Lori: $500
Lillian: $500
Deborah: $100
Jillian & Tyler: .... seriously, how many pirate-related jokes do you expect me to think up here? ($100)

Charla and Shannon have cars. Surely no one wants to give them up. DeAndre decides to trade in his game room for the big room... He picks Door #2. Behind Door #3... a $2920 golf package. His door has... a trip to Barbados worth $6749. An even trade more or less, but it wasn't the big one behind #1, a Dodge Challenger.

First up this week, Anthony Lopez, Christina Hamor, Leslie Swan-Mier, and Bradley Johnson get to bid on an HDTV. The $2600 prize goes to Anthony, who gets to play for the prize on the big screen, a trip to Malaysia. It's either $7882 or $6628. He goes with $7882... Wrong.

Christina hopes to pick up the slack with four pairs of Gucci sunglasses worth $1030. With that comes a shot at $25,000 on the Punchboard. She gets four hits from a $100 coffeepot, a $46 paper shredder, a $30 hand mixer, and a $65 microwave oven. First hit... $250. She trades that in for $100... She trades THAT in for... $100... squared! That's a bailout if ever I saw one. Because $10,000 is better than $250.

Leslie gets a $3174 pair of paddleboards, but will she get a Honda CR-Z in Lucky Seven? The board: $19,61? with $3 in hand. She picks 5. The last time this happened was last Wednesday. It didn't end well then... and it doesn't end well now. It was $19,612.

Anthony gets a spot in the Showcase. Lavalle Boswell, an Air Force medic, goes down and up thanks to a $1265 trio of lovely cocktail dresses. He can add on a baby grand and lessons if he Picks-the-right-Pair. A 12-pack of Lipton Brisk iced tea... $4.99. Gold Medal AP flour... $3.49. He sticks with the tea and goes for the Land o'Lakes cheddar cheese... $5.99. He needed to pick the Udderly Smooth udder cream.

Bradley scores a $1890 car stereo. Will he hook it up to his own or to a Hyundai Genesis 2.0? The game is One Away, and the board: $32,857. Is it $23,946? Nope, but he gets one... two... two honks. He changes it to $21,748, but it was... $23,768.

Cassandra Hale hails a $518 pair of patio heaters (after guy in the front row wanted a one-buck one-up, too... for shame, guy in the front row). Cassandra now gets a $5235 hot tub and a $3995 barbecue island. Will she keep them the way they are or Switch? She keeps'em... and she should've switched. She'll get another shot at it in the Showcase.

But first, here's something for you folks at home. From the people who brought you the Home Viewer Showcase comes... the Price is Right Prize of the Week! You'll see a prize and all you have to do is go to PriceIsRight.com and bid as close as you can without going over to it (and remember to please bid on it in dollars, because TPIR rounds off all of its prices to the nearest dollar).

First Showcase... a digital camera, a TRIP TO JAMAICA (PotW ALERT!), and a sportboat. Top winner Anthony passes, and Cassandra bids $22,300. Anthony gets an iPod touch, an iPod nano, an iPod shuffle, an Apple TV, $500 from iTunes, an audio system that can play all of that, a trip to the New Orleans Jazzfest, and an Acura ZDX! He bids $32,500. Actual price... $54,120, a difference of $21,620. Actual price of Cassandra's Showcase... $22,000..... 120. She's over by $180, and Anthony wins a staggering $56,720!
