While you were watching your
football lose a battle with a banner... we were going over the
day's worth of action in Rapid Refresh. Tonight's #HashtagWars: in
honor of the first day of fall, #ItsFallBecause. It's a three-way
tie at 800.
In act 2, we have Diss-Engaged (the
Bad Engagement Photos tumblr) and Dress for the Job You Want, Not
the Job You Have (appropriate costumes or no?). Tonight's Live
Challenge: Filth on Demand. On imgur: "Abrupt Erotica, smut while
you wait." Come up with the smutty story this lady would write
about you. Jessimae gets the 1000 from "Chapeter 1: Fisty Shades
of Grey."
Elimination game time, Ask Me
Anything! And it's about the 3-boobed fake. But just like the
third boob, Brent is feeling a bit superfluous and somewhat fake.
FTW: a Colorado taco truck was shut
down because it was also a rolling meth lab. Write a review of
this taco meth truck. The winner... as not determined by Fred
Willard, "The tacos gave me so much energy! I painted my bathroom
& cleaned my house, then found out it wasn't my house so I burnt
it to the ground by holding a lighter to my taco farts. If the
Feds ask, I was at your place the whole time. Also, why are my
nipples bloody?" Deep breath... and STEVE RANNAZZISI WINS THE
INTERNET!
Remember, today's funny becomes
tomorrow's source material. Follow the game online @midnight.

Tiffany & John
dating from Los Angeles |
Angelo & Eddie
cousins |
Josh Hopkins
"Cougar Town" |
Sheryl Crow
musician |
Round 1: Tiffany & John get "My
Body Is A Canvas" (people with tattoos), getting 3 for $300. That
leaves Angelo & Eddie with "Studs of the Silver Screen" (famous
leading men), getting one for $100.
After we swap stars, Angelo & Eddie
go with "Names That Are Shaken, Not Stirred" (named associated
with Bond... James Bond), with Angelo giving. They get 3 for $600,
$700 total. Tiffany gives for "Luck of the Irish" (famous folks of
Irish descent), getting 3 for $600, $900 total.
In the race to $3000, we have
"Swimming with the Fishes" (folks famous for spending time on or
in the water). Tiffany & John win on a wrong answer about Flipper,
$3200 to $2000.
... which is theirs to keep, but
now let's see if they can turn that into $20,000 in the final
round. Tiffany gets six of the final 10, leaving John to get the
final four in 30 seconds. They can't... get... Macho Man. Could
have said "Randy Savage", but they do get $3200.
In the nightcap (featuring Cheri
Oteri & Billy Gardell), Jess & Majed (dating) take on Christina &
Anthony (former college friends). Anthony freezes on "Gandalf",
giving Jess & Majed the game, $3100 to $1900. In the bonus, Majed
gets six... but Jess can't get the stars to climb Mount Everest,
so they leave with $3100. |

Can Heather repeat after giving
Jeopardy! the business yesterday?
CHAMPION
Heather Jarvis
orig. Trinidad & Tobago
editor for the United Nations in New York
$11,800 |
Catherine Hardee
Kinston, NC
hotel front desk clerk & recent college graduate |
Christian Burks
Austin, TX
history student |
Heather starts with $200
Double-Letter Endings. Christian finds the Daily Double under $800
The Star-Spangled Banner. He fronts $400 on this: after a
decade-long preservation process, the flag is back on display in a
new exhibition space in this Smithsonian museum. "What is the
Smithsonian Museum of American History?" RIGHT for $2400! At the
end of the round, he leads with $6000 to Catherine's $4600.
Heather has $2600 and the first go in Double Jeopardy!...
... with $400 All 5 Vowels in One
Word. Christian finds the first Daily Double under $1600 Common
Ponds. He bets $600 on this: Germany, Switzerland & this neighbor
share the Bodensee, AKA Lake Constance. "What is Austria?" Right
for $9000. Catherine finds the other under $2000 Physics. Leading
by that much, she bets $1000 on this from Jimmy... "You can see
that the arrows are pointing in the same way, right? Well watch
what happens when water is added, and this direction-changing
physics property takes place." "What is refraction?" That would've
been right, but reflection leaves Catherine with only a $1000 lead
to end the round, $7200 to $6200 for Christian. Heather still very
much alive with $2200.
FINAL JEOPARDY! on "English
Monarchs":
she was born near London; her mother, near Madrid. Correct response: who
was Mary Tudor?
Bloody Mary gives Catherine the
game with $12,401! Heather leaves with $13,800. |

LMAD Premiere Week continues (IN HIGH
DEFINITION!) with King Mark (king of hearts), a sales engineer who
has something in Jonathan's pocket. It could be something big. Or
it could be a Zonk. He can take the pocket or the Big Box.
Whatever he doesn't want goes to Cheryl (cotton candy). Mark gets
the Big Box, and the king has a steed, a Honda motorcycle! Cheryl
now has Jonathan's pocket. OR she can trade for Curtain #1.
Leftovers go to Alexandra (flowery hat), a chef. Cheryl keeps her
pocket, while Alexandra gets the curtain. Will she give it up for
$500? YES! Behind the curtain... a new living room with HDTV. That
leaves Cheryl and something in Jonathan's pants. OR Curtain #3 if
she is so inclined. She wants the pocket. Behind the curtain... a
giant catfish barbecue (ZONK!) In Jonathan's pants... $100...
stuck to $3900 more! That's $4000! That... is a big fat something
in Jonathan's pants.
"Who wants to come on down?" That's another show. Flower child
Emily (student at Montclair State) gets $1500, which could turn
into a 2014 HYUNDAI ELANTRA WORTH $18,010! You know how we play
the 15 Keys. You have 15 seconds to try as many keys as possible.
Extra time costs $100 a second. She keeps the cash and gets 15 to
unlock her car. 3... 7... 14... ALL duds. The key was #5.
Manuel (the Blue Mambo) and Julie (geisha) get to play Don't Blame
Me. Manuel, should Julie have $1000 or what's behind Curtain #1?
She gets the cash, and behind the curtain was... a pair of HDTVs.
Julie, should Manuel have $1000 or whatever's in the Small Box? He
gets the box, and in it... a luxury ski trip to Jackson Hole (6n,
The Lexington Jackson Hole) - $5626 - NOW.... will someone trade
their gains for an LMAD envelope? Julie keeps the cash. Manuel
keeps the trip. Nobody gets a trip to the Big Apple. Not to New
York, but to an actual big apple (ZONK!)
Karen (leopard) has to plug in Curtain #3 unless she wants $700...
She's going for the curtain, and she wins appliances!
Another deal! Shari (witchy nurse) is playing for a 2014 VW JETTA
WORTH $18,775 in 0 to 80. First pick is... 30! Wayne offers $500
to quit. Nope, another draw... 10 to 40! $1000 to call off the
deal? One more time... zero. $1000 again to call off the deal.
She's going to try... another zero. Stopped at 40.
Chandra & Jeffrey ("Old School, New School" - pictures of Monty
AND Wayne) are going to visit Dr. Wayne. Starting with a pair of
diamond earrings or a VIP dinner party at Beso in Hollywood. First
round... NO MATCH. Second up... a new barbecue grill OR a MacBook
Pro. GRILL! Now the question... trade $2397 worth of grill or
trade it for Curtain #1. They're ... GOING FOR IT! And they're
going to Grenada! (5n, Mount Cinnamon)
Last one before the big one: Edward (an honest-to-God Purple
Heart) has three checks. The first one is worth $25. He can take
all three... or the Small Box. He takes the small box... and $2775
buys him... a teenie weenie tree (ZONK!). But he gets $200 because
that's what you do when you serve America.
THE BIG DEAL is worth $21,143. Who wants it? It's Chandra &
Jeffrey! Behind Door #1... the VAULT. Something new, they show the
vault beforehand. They decide to take Door #3. Inside the Vault..
$7286. Behind Door #3... his & hers surfing gear worth $2337. The
Big One was behind #2, and it was a trip to Bali and luggage AND
everything in the Big Deal. |

The counters continue to fall as we
roll along TPIR's Premiere Week with Valorie Candelaria, Cameron
Oelsen, Justin Riedmiller, and Sharonda Nash playing for a trip to
San Diego (6n, The Westin San Diego). You're looking at a $2176
limo ride, and Justin is looking at PLINKO! With chips from Drew,
a $28 neck pillow, a $40 hair remover, and an $80 food steamer,
Justin drops ... a paltry Benjamin.
Valorie picks up a $1638 Google Nexus with service. Next, she
hopes to service on a kitchen island in Pushover. The board: 4 0 7
3 5 9 9 4 6. She pushes to $3599... which was a 22 in blackjack.
One too many. It was $5994.
Joanne Coplien takes her spot in Contestants' Row, takes a $617
all-in-one PC, and takes her spot on stage to try for a foosball
table, a French-door refrigerator, 3 pairs of Valentino shoes, and
a Ford Mustang! The game: More or Less. She wins the $900
foosball, the $2529 refrigerator, and the $1595 shoes easily. Now
for the car. Is it more or less than $24,000? She bets MORE....
but it was LESS, $23,335. At least she has the first three...
... and another shot at greatness in the Showcase. Meanwhile, Gail
Nelson gets $798 in hair care machinery - a curling iron, a
roller, a dryer, and a straightener. The iron & hair dryer are
available at PriceIsRight.com. Go there now and Jason Block it
(play to win!). She also gets a washer/dryer and a 3DTV. She also
gets 1 Right Price: $3100. She puts it on the TV... BOOM!
Steven Whisler doesn't need his mother to win a $1149 pair of
cameras. But he may just need a travel companion if he wins a trip
to New Zealand (6n, James Cook Hotel Grand Chancellor Wellington)
in Checkout. He prices Aunt Nellie's pickled beets, Q-tips, a
sixer of Maruchan chicken ramen, Hershey's chocolate spread, and
Plus-White tooth bleach at $19.45. The actual total... $19.46!
That is the richest penny you will see all day!
Cameron and Sharonda will need a miracle of their own to get out
of Contestants' Row with a GPS & satellite radio on the line. The
price: $1249. The winner... Margeaux Ebershon, whogets to play for
a Chevy Cruze in the ol' Money Game.

As a reminder, check out the #2 square, the Easter egg square, is
now 43. Pick it, and... well, you're screwed. The middle number:
6. 17... Money. 19... FRONT! 56 and 43... Screwed. Last pick is
72, and she wins... $188. The car... is an El Cheapo: $19,605.
Steven spins out $1000 on the Big Wheel to take on Joanne in the
Showcase. First up, we speed up with a treadmill, a Honda Rebel,
and a ski boat. Top winner Steven bids $24,200. Joanne gets, in
contrast, to slow down in a hammock, an 8-day Alaskan cruise, and
a trip to Hawaii (6n, Waikiki Beach Marriott). She bids $22,500.
Actual price... $20,643. Steven's Showcase.... $34,253 to win
$44,601! Nice haul, sir, especially given all he went through to
get it! |

Barbara Mcculloh (New York, NY)
Her voice can be heard in various audiobooks... including adult
fiction.
(+1): Her friend, Jose
She asks the audience on the 4th question, but the help isn't good
enough in this case, so she jumps over it and the $500 it had. She
then brings in Jose for the 6th, and with his help, she gets
$25,000 from it! That makes her total $38,100 going into this...
[Q7]
Which of the following correctly updates an old proverb to be more
scientifically accurate?
A: Every rose has its prickle
B: A watched pot never sublimates
C: The early bird gets the Anura
D: Angular acceleration wins the race
Barbara starts by correctly stating the original forms of those
proverbs (thorn, boils, worm, slow and steady). She doesn't think
A sounds right, and she thinks B is the opposite of its original.
She isn't sure if Anura is a type of worm. She then considers D
for a bit before going with that... but it's A! As a result, she
goes home with $1,000.
To finish the episode, Joseph Hauser is picked from the audience
to play for $1,000...
Nevada recently became the first state to allow self-driving
vehicles on its public roads, when it granted a license to what
tech company?
A: Apple
B: Facebook
C: Amazon
D: Google
Joseph remembers hearing something about this, but nothing
specific. He figures that A and D are both on the cutting edge of
technology, so he just picks one of them. He picks A... but it's
D!
In the nightcap, James Rowe
(Brooklyn) tries to add onto the $58,600 in Classic Millionaire,
but he is out of lifelines.
[ $100,000 ]
If Texas seceded from the US, it would be the 39th largest country
by land area, bigger than all but which of these?
A: Colombia
B: Iraq
C: France
D: Madagascar
James goes with B... It was A! He
leaves with $25,000.
Tiffany Joseph (Brooklyn) rides a
Wump all the way to $65,500. Tomorrow, she takes on the $3000
question.
