Pat couldn't parlay his win into a long-standing run, so now Alison defends against two people who want to teach her a lesson in humility...

Alison Becker
Los Angeles
researcher
$17,000
Winter Mead
Oakland
high school drama teacher
Susan Keller
Philadelphia
English teacher

... not to be confused with the VH1 presenter of the same name. She starts it for $200 3-Letter Abbrev. Susan finds the Daily Double under $1000 How Touching!. She fronts $1000 on this: it's good luck to touch a bronze statue of a turtle named Testudo at this east coast school. "What is Maryland?" That... would've been right. Instead, Harvard drops to into a tie for first with $1800 at the TV timeout.

At the half, Alison has $6000 to Susan's $3800. Winter with $2400 begins Double Jeopardy!...

... with $400 Name That Actor. Alison finds the first Daily Double under $1600 "P" Country. She bets $2000 on this: its national unit of currency is the balboa. "What is Paraguay?" (C-Note: at this point, I said something that I obviously can't repeat here). It's Panama, leaving her with $8400. Winter finds the second under $2000 Capture the Flag. He bets $2500 on this: this word for the upper left part of a flag is a place name on maps of China & Ohio. "What is a canton?" Correct for $12,100! He leads with $13,300 to Alison's $11,600. Susan can play spoiler with $5800.

Final Jeopardy! in "WWII": FDR liked to rest near water, but because of fears after Pearl Harbor, this inland place was created for him. Correct response: what is Camp David (or Shangri-La, as it was first called)?

Susan gets it right and spoils for the win with $8000. Alison leaves with $18,000.

Welcome to the Friday Price, as Sandra Small, Dale Hunsinger, Sharon Walton, and Jeannie Paone bid on a spa-in-a-box. The price: $1499, as Jeannie wins it and a shot at a pair of motorcycles. Freeze Frame is the game, and she freezes $6398... Got it!

Dale gets a dinette for $995. Can he get a Ford Explorer in Lucky Seven? First number: 2. First guess: 5.... It's 6. That's a dollar. Second guess is 4... 7. That's three. Third guess is 4... 8. That's the rest. The price: $26,785.

Sharon gets to Make Her Move after winning a $960 karaoke. The prizes she could win include a shower dock, flatware, and a waverunner. The board: 9 2 9 8 3 0 7 5 0. She went $50 for the dock, $929 for the flatware, and $8307 for the waverunner... Not it. The dock was $30, the flatware $750, and the waverunner $9298.

Three Hidden Valley Ranch dressings, with each one worth $2.99. We're up to $18.09. A bag of Jelly Bellys is worth $1.49, giving him $19.58. One Mrs. Dash seasoning... is $2.79. He's $1.37 over. If only he picked that seasoning first.

Margaret Wisdom is plenty wise about a $1457 computer. Is she equally wise about the Ford Focus she can win? The good news: she doesn't have to be, because she's playing Bonus Game. She wins a $50 beverage buggy and a $150 air sanitizer, but the Bonus was behind the $150 MP3 turntable.

Sandra needs to get on it with a wine cabinet. Price: $1365. Winner... Jason Ortiz. He gets the Check Game for a trip to Carmel, CA (C-Note: via my hometown of Monterey, CA). He makes his check out for $2450. Actual price... $3969. Total of... $6419. Ouch. BUT he gets $1000 on the Big Wheel, so it's not a total loss.

First in the Showcase, Amber runs a shoe cobbler with a treadmill, a trip to Spain, an ATV... and a dream. Top winner Jason passes, and Dale bids $14,000. Jason gets twists and turns regarding suspense novels, a Pilates machine, and a Pontiac Solstice. Jason bids $28,500. Actual price... $27,297. So close, but he's over. Dale's Showcase... $22,436, giving him the win and $23,421.

Meanwhile, the password for today is enjoy... We hope you enjoy the weekend, but even more than that, we hope you enjoy "Million Dollar Password" on Sunday.
